Although he has left the country in the hands of thugs and Dakeets like Zardari, Hypocrite Mian motorway Shareef, political scavenging vultures and hyenas, a judiciary that is on sale from day one, the liar lawyers and heavily financed journalists but there is nothing that we can do. This nation is dead and they won’t come on the streets even if they fall prey to these ruthless political animals and democratically elected criminals.

He has left his office gracefully, he could have faced impeachment and make things even worse for economy and the stability of this county but he choose the path of self-sacrifice and fallen on his sword and avoided the way to confrontation.

I am disappointed and I am hopeless. I have broken all the political idols that I worshiped. I know I was wrong, I worshipped them, thats my sin.

Its high time that we stop relying on a single person and make our institutions strong. Its time to stop looking at others that they will some day change our destiny. Destiny is in our own hands, only we can change it, we have no other option if we want to live here. For others who are fleeing the country, I don’t blame them; They have the right not to waste their lives. Life is too precious to be given away on streets . But it is the poor and the middle class of this country that will ultimately suffer.

Shhhhhh, keep quite, stop every thing and just think, will these political animals ever change my fate, will they give me a good job and handsome salary, a safe environment to live, will they ever come to me and say that OK Mr. Ali Hammad you have done enough hard work now you will get the rewards, will I ever get justice without money, will they ever let me praise my God as I would like to, will I be given the freedom to hold them accountable for the basic rights for which I have to strive. The answer is NO, its not going to happen at least in my life.

I have deliberately shattered all the hopes that I had previously associated with these so called leaders. Its time for me to change myself and my attitude. I have stopped to worship the leader like other do.

Our analysis and criticism is based on what our politicaly motivated, self oriented, heavily financed TV anchors and news paper columnist say and write. Every one is searching for a chance and every one has a price. Woh koon tah aur kahan chala gya, kyon ke us ke qeemat us ko mil gae thee.. I am talking about Dr. Shahid Masood, a very true, practile and recent story where wealth dominates ideology.

Our minds are polluted by the media. They make and break these idols. They can make an ordinary person a hero instantly and then they ask us to worship him and we do. We posses such high caliber and intellectual skills.  These Ansaris, Abbasis, Mirs and all the other TV anchors make these idols, but they have to, because they are paid for this. These coward jackals and hungry dogs will always work for others, they have no ideology of their own, there ideology is money, money and money. If one snatches the bone from there mouth, someone else is ready to given them another. This is our media and this is our journalism.

It is all our fault. We all were not trained as we should have been. We were not taught about the ethics by our elders. They showed their worst and expected us to do better. All these leaders and corrupt people come from within. They are not imported. Unless we are not going to change our attitude our next generations are going to be worse.

Stop relying on any body else and show unity and above all DISCIPLINE and strive for making this country prosperous. This is our last chance. Be true to yourselves and love Pakistan.

Let’s talk, talk talk and talk. Take the remote control in hands and switch the channels. Yeah that’s what I was doing tonight. I changed one channel after another until I reached the last one and I had to press that same button 44 times in search of a “Tension-free” program…

Now here is what I found out, channel one to about channel 27(except HBO, Star Movies and Star World) all the channels were discussing THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE OF PAKISTAN… you must know that … then came ARY or may be INDUS, that was sweet, a very nice cute little girl dancing in front of the whole nation, her parents appreciating; lucky parents; people chanting slogans, clapping and whistling. Then came another young boy, dancing and being appreciating by the “International Level” judges’ .Thanks God we are competing with India at least in any way. All our parents must be so happy that now their boys and girls are getting the real chance to show their talent in front of the world. They were dying for that! Now I am sure we will produce world class dancers who may get a chance to show their talent in boogie woogie. That’s what our ultimate goal should be. Let them think, we will copy later on.

Back to channel 27, thanks God I found out National Geographic. But my dad said ‘Oh yaar kaheen aur laga kya her waqt kutay billay dhakta rahta ha tu…’ perhaps he too is anxious to know about THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUES OF PAKISTAN.

Now let’s talk about the MOST IMPORTANT ISSUES OF PAKISTAN. Off course none other than our beloved, Just, Fair and The most innocent “The Judiciary”. Once all the judges are reinstated every thing will be OK. Oh don’t forget get my favourate chap his highness Mr. justice Iftikhar Chaudry back. Because he has this (shhhh don’t tell any one, it’s a secret) secret magical stick with which he can solve every problem including atta issue , not only that he can light up your homes, bring back investment, flood the dams with water, make smooth roads with no bumps. Oh yeah the magical stick has the power to wipe out extremism from its roots. Off course we have voted for a change and only ifti uncle can bring that.

Hussain, who was injured and taken prisoner by the Indian Army in the 1965 war, spent 40 years in Indian jails. He was released as a civilian prisoner in 2005. During his imprisonment, Hussain was subjected to terrible human rights abuses.

Hussain, bearing army No 335139, hit by enemy fire on the Line of Control at the start of the 1965 war. Subsequently, he is taken prisoner by the Indian army, who deny him Prisoner of War status. Trained in the traditions of the Pakistan Army, Hussain faces all the suffering and refuses to share any information about his country with his captors — so much so that when they cut out his tongue, he writes ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ (long live Pakistan) in his own blood. Hussain also becomes mentally ill during his four decades of incarceration.

The Great Sipahi Maqbool Hussian fought till the last gasp. Now is the time to pay all our respects and salute his bravery.

Pervez Hoodbhoy March 10, 2008

Drones, machine and human, have drenched Pakistan with the blood of innocents. On the one side are US-made drones such as the MQ-1B General Dynamics Predator – a remote controlled, self-propelled, missile-bearing aerial system. On the other side are the low-tech human drones, armed with explosive vests

stuffed with ball bearings and nails. These lethal engines of destruction, programmed by remote handlers, are very different. But neither asks why it must kill, nor cares about the death and suffering it causes.

On January 13 2006, a bevy of MQ-1Bs hovering over Damadola launched a barrage of ten Hellfire missiles at the village below. They blew up 18 local people, including five women and five children. Such cold statistics say nothing about the smashed lives of the survivors, or the grief of the bereaved. The blame was put on faulty local intelligence.

M P Bhandara

Various expressions such as ‘massive victory’, ‘crushing defeat’, ‘a clean sweep of President Musharraf’s allies’, ‘the nation rejects previous rulers’ and a slew of chest-thumping slogans have been used by the victors and the media to celebrate the electoral success of the PPP and the PML-N. Even the New York Times, on February 29 referred to the “overwhelming rejection of Musharraf’s party by the voters this month”; surprising since the Times has a reputation for scrupulous fidelity to facts. There is an inconvenient truth about this election and President Musharraf has pointed it out in his assertion that his allies have got more votes than his adversaries.

Let us consider the voting facts for a moment: According to the statistics of the Election Commission, the PML-Q and its allies, the MQM, the PML-F and the PPP-S received 10,844,233 votes. The PPP-P received 10,055,491 votes and the PML-N 6,240,343 votes. Therefore, the PML-Q and allies received 40 per cent of votes, the PPP-P 37 per cent and the PML-N 23 per cent of the 27.14M votes cast for the three major parties.

Nawaz Sharif giving Interview at his Raiwand EstateIt was reported today that Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, who is calling for restoration of Pre-November 2 Judiciary had harassed, Jasmine Manzoor, anchor for Business Plus TV when she was asking questions to the said. Nawaz Sharif lost his temper when asked routine questions about deals, etc, grabbed the tape and warned her that he would see how she left Raiwind if she aired it.

There was a press conference aired at 7:00 PM local time by Business Plus TV, in which Jasmine Manzoor and Rana Mubashir spoke about Nawaz Sharif’s behavior . It is also reported that ARY one world pulled out there story last minute when received threats.

(The Picture on the Right shows Nawaz sharif giving interview at his Raiwand Estate)

This is not just a question about Nawaz Sharif, rather it about the so called Leaders who call them selves democratic. There has been previous stories like these which had been reported.

It is also very much impressive of Mr.Sharif, Ex-Primer, that his fight is for restoration of Pre-November 2 Judiciary. There are many other concerns that has come up with respect to these democratic leaders.

Mr. Sharif also showed up at Geo News “Yak-jahti” camp and supported media’s independence. Where as the President Pervez Musharraf, an ex-Uniformed President and ex-Army General, allowed 57 television channels to open and broadcast news and current affairs. The question that you might see after looking at this video at youtube know as “President Pervez Musharraf vs. Syed Adnan Kakakhel”, one just keeps on thinking what is wrong here, dictator are democratic and democrats are dictators.

The question to ask is how and when will we have these norms in our so-called democratic leaders? And do we really need some dictator like Musharraf to teach them these norms?
