Hussain, who was injured and taken prisoner by the Indian Army in the 1965 war, spent 40 years in Indian jails. He was released as a civilian prisoner in 2005. During his imprisonment, Hussain was subjected to terrible human rights abuses.
Hussain, bearing army No 335139, hit by enemy fire on the Line of Control at the start of the 1965 war. Subsequently, he is taken prisoner by the Indian army, who deny him Prisoner of War status. Trained in the traditions of the Pakistan Army, Hussain faces all the suffering and refuses to share any information about his country with his captors — so much so that when they cut out his tongue, he writes ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ (long live Pakistan) in his own blood. Hussain also becomes mentally ill during his four decades of incarceration.
The Great Sipahi Maqbool Hussian fought till the last gasp. Now is the time to pay all our respects and salute his bravery.
Maqbool Hussain is hero of the nation. He is not like other persons who call themselves leader of the nation, and when they face any trouble they blame others.
We should treate him like a great hero.

Subhan Allah What a greatest courage for the sake of mouther land,eyes getting wet when heard of the Greatest Man who scarified his rest of life for Nation and Mouther-Land.as much as concern to me i must reward him with the greatest Honour of the century,I LOVE MAQBOOL the great,must reward him with the biggest honour of the country he deserve for it Pakistan Zinda Bad.
And yet another soldier who fought a war for a bloody dictator and not for the motherland. Why is hea hero? just because he got caught? performing his duty? and who can autheticate for his conduct in indian jail? but any way he might be better than those thugs looting our land and money in the name of “defence”. and previous army was as bad as todays. just go through the hamood rehman commission report. its just that we did not have acess to information.we lost three wars and still boast of a gallant army. well thats great all you morons out there.

get real . Getting caught, becoming a prisoner of war. All this doesnt qualify you as a war hero., I still dont get it why we make heroes out of every one. aziz bhatti, rashid minhas , lalak jan and now this maqboll hussain. he was a casuality of war.. like so many others..the british and and the americans and the russians have fought and won so many wars. defended their homeland with honour. and yet we dont find many sorry figure war heroes. they are not given state lands or hy7ped upo media coverage. they do it as their duty and for their homeland. yes they do haev their heroes but those are firefighters, rescuers, coast guards and police men. not people who died out of their own unprofeesionalism and insubordination and then rewarded a medal of honour.. and that too after loosing.

well I think I will not agree with you. First of all Why should I compare a soldier of my country with the soldiers of other countries like US n UK.
According to you, to measure the bravery of a Pakistani soldier we should compare his bravery with the bravery of US , UK and Russian soldiers. Why?
Secondly we create hype ?? I will consider it totally wrong. Pick the list of honored soldiers of European countries and US, specially during World Wars. I think the list would be infinite.
We create hype? now tell me how many war movies has Hollywood made on the war heroes to pay tribute to their soldiers. According to you they have defended their homeland with honor and our soldiers did the same but they must not be honored. Argghh,, contradiction, contradiction.
If our soldiers are caught and killed because of their own unprofeesionalism, then what do you call the incident of Pearl harbor? where was the professionalism gone. Why did US honor those who were killed in that incident? Why did Hollywood make high budget films on incidents like that?
If a firefighter and coast guard protects the people they are heroes then what do the soldiers do? do they dance?
One thing more, losing and winning does not make people heroes, it is the courage and the handling of the situation that makes them heroes…
I am sure if a US soldier had been arrested and tortured the same way by Chinese or Russians , you may have already seen a high budget thriller in your local cinemas … It would have been named “A Patriot ” … Ring any bells Mr.Patriot ??
Maqbool Hussain is a hero of Islam and Pakistan, he has spent whole of his life for this country, he was just 19 years old when he was caught and at the time of his release he was about 59 years.. He has lost whole of his family…. May Allah make us like him (Bold and Brave) so we can serve our country… “He is a message for Indian Army that a true muslim and a true Pakistani can never be pressurized, He can spent whole of HIS life in prison but can never withdraw his Faith in Allah..”

and you know what..when he was handed over to the Pakistan authorities he was mentaly retarded.and guess what he did after the release,he straight away traveled to his base unit and reported.OH man a mentaly retarded man remember his army number and the address of his unit base.
To me he should be awarded Nishan-e-haider.this guy deserves much more than that.

i just saw last episode of sipahi MaQbool hussain..
I hated india and indian movies and song all my life and my family used to call me virdo for that ..
now after they saw this Drama based on true story of Great MAQBOOL Hussain my family think i was always right…
I dont understand one thing why do our nation love indian copyed movies so much they copy everything from other channels and movies …they got nothing of their own the dresses they wear is from west ofcurse they cant wear their embrasing traditnal dresses and humiliate them self in sucity LOL a dress with a FAN under the legs ..

well compare that indian jasoos also was pakistani jail for about 35 years and maqbool hussain was in indian jail for about the same time. compare the two when the both returned to their countries. so compare what mithi they are made off and what mithi we are made off .

(matyr of democracy) …i do not have words for this guys, trust me i watched some paki serial after 10 so years , and i could not stop my self watching it in one go… and I FEEL PROUD that my counttry has soldiers like him
I was wondering that if there is any thing in pakistan which make me proud pakistani. Here he is to make me proud. I don have words to explain the feelings, especially after 40 years in a prison and he is still reporting back to his unit. This is like a cool breeze, light in utter darkness, emotional in the emotionless era, what else, words are not describing everything I am speechless…..
